Due South is the tavern associated with the Great Southern Wine Centre. Here, you can find all the great wines of Australia and New Zealand, but it is particularly great for showcasing all the fine wines produced in the Great Southern wine region.
The menu at Due South was designed to feature local products. From fresh, local seafood and house-aged meats to bread products made from house-milled flour, you can rest assured that your dollars go to support local producers.
Included on the menu designed by Kenny McHardy are seafood options such as oysters and sardines; calamari and King George whiting; chilli mussels and seafood marinara pizza. You can, of course, opt for good, old-fashioned fish and chips. The corn and mussel fritters is definitely another dish to try. Non-seafood options include chicken salad, barbecue pork and beef pizza, and steak.
Do you need a better excuse to keep your food local and try fresh local produce and fine wines from The Great Southern Region? Due South offers a great pub experience for you and your family next time you are in Albany.
