Brika Perth
Brika Perth is coming up to one month of trading and describes itself as the first “authentic Meze Bar in Perth.” It is refreshing and welcome to see a Greek restaurant operating in Perth that isn’t a washed up 80’s style Greek restaurant and offers fresh and vibrant modern Greek fare.
Situated at 177 Stirling St, it is near The Ellington Jazz Club and McDonalds on Beaufort Street. One block away. They have a good range of Ouzo’s that have been imported from the island of Mitillini, the home of Ouzo. Stocking Barbayanni, Plomari and Mini for around $9.00 (30ml) you are able to try some Ouzo’s that you would be hard pressed to located anywhere else in Perth. So it is a good way to start – why go to a Greek restaurant and not order a traditional Greek drink?

The dishes are aimed at sharing and the produce is clearly fresh and of a high standard. As you can see from the menu below, they have a wide range of traditrional Greek dishes to graze on to begin and heartier dishes you can share later. Standout was the Barramundi Pan Fried Skordalia. Skordalia is a thick puree often added with olive oil to make a smooth emulsion.
Barramundi Pan Fried Skordalia ($20.00)
This skordalia was certainly smooth and balanced on the palate and matched the crispy skinned Barra perfectly. You will see there are plenty of dishes to share, recommend the slow cooked lamb ($24.00), the greek doughnuts with rosewater syrup ($9.00) and Halva ice cream (ask for extra) and the grilled oregano lemon octopus ($18.00). They are now open for lunches which is a cool alternative.
απολαμβάνω

Prawn Saganaki – feta, tomato braise (front) $15.00
Grilled oregano lemon octopus ($18.00)
Calamari with lemon zest herbs ($16.00)
